Hi,

I recently purchased a used AIW 9800pro, and am having occassional problems with getting small vertical lines all over the screen. Here is a screenshot:

It usually happens right when I turn it on. After I restart the computer a few times, it has gone away. I've checked to make sure its properly seated and everything. Has anyone else had this problem before?

System Specs:

asus p4s533 mobo
p4 1.8a
512mb kingston valueram pc2700
nec dvd burner
80gig maxtor hdd
330W enermax psu
aiw 9800 pro.

Thanks for the help.

That looks very bad. Next time do not buy a used card unless it is from the trustworthy folks
here at the [H]ard|Forums.

What are the temperatures at idle and load? What drivers are you using? The icon in the top
left corner looks like an apple. What OS are you using?

I actually bought the card from someone over at anandtech. I don't plan on blaming hiim for the problem unless I can conclude that it is indeed the video card, and not something on my end.

Haven't tested the temps yet, but it doesn't seem to be overheating. When I bootup the first time (after being off for 12 hours or so), it can happen. At the same time, after playing a game for an hour or 2, I might not experience any problems at all.

The OS is windows XP SP2, its just a visual style.

I usually get something like that for about half a second after it boots into Windows and catalyst control center gets loaded... but if it stays, I have no idea what that could be other than the video card.
