9800pro agp on LCD help please...

I am hoping for some help on this issue please. I just upgraded my 17" Crt which was dying a slow death. I went with an Nec 19" Widescreen which has an optimal resolution of 1440x900@75hz. My 9800pro agp will run at that resolution (atleast I am able to select it) but my eyes are bugging out. It is like running a Crt at 60hz.

My question is.....am I pushing the limits of the 9800pro? Will a higher end card be the solution to this issue? My limited knowledge in this area has me thinking that if the 9800pro will run at that resolution then having a higher end card running at the same resolution should yield the same result. Is my thinking flawed?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
