How much performance increase would i see from 9800pro to 6800nu?
and how much faster is x800pro compare to 6800nu? 6800nu is cheaper than x800pro which only comes in 256mb..

Also which card runs cooler 6800nu or x800pro? and is 250w psu enough for the card?
 
In most cases people see a 40-50% performance gain. X800pro would easily beat the 6800nu. 6800nu is more comparable to the 9800XT, or it seems that way. You should get a X800pro or a 6800GT. I ordered my eVGA 6800 GT yesterday from the eVGA's website and it comes bundled with Farcry. X800pro's are hard to find now, expecially ones that are bba. I think Vision Tek's X800pro just got certified and has them in stock at their site too.
 
I would go with the X800 pro. Its faster, only uses one PCI slot in your computer and consumes less power. I just picked one up yesterday and immediately got an overall performance gain of 25 to 30% over my previous 9800 pro. What is bba? And, are these other variations of the x800 out there better than just getting one built by ATI?
 
Hahaha i'm a dork. :D I just checked out the xtasy x800 from vision teks site, 399.00!! 62 bucks cheaper than newegg. I think I see some advantages right off the bat.
 
i don't intend to start up another NOO ATI .. NOOOO NVIDIA! war .. but just to clear up some things,

the 6800GT is also a single slot solution with 1 molex plug and has basically the same power requirements as the x800 pro. you may want to do just a little more research yourself to decide for sure which is right for you.
 
The x800pro is faster than the 6800nu. The 6800nu is faster than the 9800xt. The 6800GT is faster than the x800pro.

A 6800GT can be had for this and you'll be better off.
 
I'mma say get the 6800GT, because I don't think anyone has had a problem overclocking them to Ultra levels. Best Bang for the buck, but you really can't go wrong with x800pro or GT.

I just saw this from another post in the forums, read through it, and then came here to post, lol. This is very interesting. Seems as though I need to keep researching.

I like this kinda power for that kinda money.
 
6800 gt all the way. The 6800 non ultra has the same memory bandwidth as a 9800 pro 256 mb, in effect castrating it. Remember that gpus have been evolving a lot faster than memory, so using older memory has a much bigger impact on performance.
