Currently i have a 9800pro, i get 6000 3dm03 stock and 6500 3dm03 oc'ed with it.

Is it worth getting a plain 6800 ?

I can get the LeadTek A400 (6800 non-gt/non-ultra, just plain 6800) at a reasonable price.

But is it really worth it ?

Not unless some of those pipelines are guaranteed unlockable on the 6800s.

You should see an improvement but it's not going to be like getting an Ultra (which is like twice the performance of the 5950U/9800XT cards).

I saw a huge improvement. I was using the 128MB 9800 pro...6800 was like night and day.

Yes, I just got the Galaxy 6800GT to replace my Radeon 9800Pro

Don't depart from your beloved pro plz. They hold a great place in history. Wait for ATI to rebound

Im not talking GT or Ultra, just plain 6800.

Guess ill just hang on to my 9800pro until prices have dropped on the high-end cards, it's not that demanding games i play, except for FarCry, but i got that covered with my cpu :p

I scored 8653 with my plain old 6800 and a mobile barton @ 2.4ghz, 1 gb kingston cas3 PC3200.

I'd say upgrade to 6800GT if you have a 9800pro... 6800 might not give you enough improvement for what you pay.

If you have a 9800 Pro, try and save up the extra $100 for the GT. It is truly a night => day experience -- especially in DOOM 3

Am I the only one who found that funny?

I also am debating between going from a 9800PRO to a 6800. However I am going to wait until HL2 is released. Whatever card does better in HL2 will be the card I'm buying. I won't have enough cash to upgrade anyway till the holidays (just bought a new rig) and hopefully I will have the answer better then. I just hope valve doesn't pull another huge delay again.

I think its safe to say that the 6800 series will beat the 9800 pro/xt in HL2, based on DX9 numbers.

I could even let you know tomorrow when I get the Cs:source beta.

You'd end up with a 3DMark03 score in the range 10000-11000, for what it's worth, based on the rest of your system specs in your sig.

I upgraded from a TI4600 to a 6800 128 MB, as another person already said, night and day.
My 3DMark score in the 5000 range with the 4600, now I have 10500 with the 6800.
Aquamark3 was 25000 with the TI4600 now it's 60000 with the 6800.

I mean will it beat the X800 series. Either way please tell me how it runs on CS: Source. I would really appreciate it.

I dont keep graphics cards in my system for sentimental reasons, or on the assumption that maybe in the future some other card will be better....i use them for performance. your comment is quite amusing!

PS, if you like ATI Pro's so much, maybe you wanna buy mine?
