Yeah, I came back to check out the forums today after not even looking for about eight months, and this is the first thing I see. In the old days this thread would've been a worthwhile discussion of whether or not the performance differences between the 9800 and X800 would warrant an upgrade.
it still happens...it's just that his phrasing was rather, well, odd. Instead of asking whether it was worth upgrading his 9800 to an x800, he asked if he could "flash" it to a x800.Originally posted by Grayfire

Not unless the performance increase is more than I expect it to be. It's my general opinion that when you buy top-of-the-line video cards it's not worth it to upgrade until a couple generations after. For example, I bought a 9700 Pro when they first came out and I'm only now feeling the need to upgrade.Originally posted by lorcani
