9800GX2 won't detect dummy cable

How come my VGA dummy cable will not work on my 9800GX2? is there a trick to it, I made 2 different dummy cables and vista will not detect it? wtf?:rolleyes:

they worked fine on my 4 GPU box with windows 7 and 8800GS/9600GSO

now it does not work?
 
did you make sure that SLI is disabled? Only thing I can think of. Mine worked just fine under vista w/ dummy plugs.

HAHA i understand that:D i have a 9800gx2 sitting here on my desk but i need to get the temp under control on my main folding box i'd like to drop it down to the mid 70's before i add another card

I also have parts for another computer which has a Phenom 9950 and EVGA GTX 260 216 core, too lazy to play around with it lol
