9800GTX+ upgrade?

I'm looking to upgrade my 9800GTX+, and I play my games at 1920x1080, max settings, for the most part. Starting to have to drop lower, so I'm looking to upgrade.

I was looking at both the 560ti and the 7850s, but was unsure what to pick.

Then I found this website, and now I'm debating swearing off NVidia, because this makes no sense. http://www.hwcompare.com/11241/geforce-9800-gtx-vs-geforce-gtx-560-ti-448/

How is my 9800 drawing nearly half the power and yet doing AF better? Hell, if it's doing AF better, I might not upgrade, considering normally I just turn AF off to put my framerate up where I need it.

Also, recommendations. Current game of choice is GW2, desired settings at max, with a budget max of ~200. Also looking forward to HD 1080p Digital cable streaming, but I don't think that matters. However, slightly looking towards multi-monitor Full screen gaming + 1080p cable streaming on an alternate monitor. If I could get all of these functions on a card ~150, that would be optimum.

that website is crap, apparently my old gts450 was worse than a 250 according to it

Take the HD7850. It should perform better in almost every single way, from fps count to using less energy.

Well that webpage isnt crap. It showed 3 things in a comparison between the two. Yes the 250 has a higher memory bandwidth and yes its faster at AF. Doesnt mean that it performs better. Minus all that anandtech is known for not being very accurate.

Op get the AMD 7850.

starting to have to drop lower than max? a 9800gtx+ has not be able to play hardly a single game made in the last 3 or 4 years on or near max settings at 1920.

7850 is a nice card but you also need to list the rest of your specs for the best recommendation.
 
OP Nvidia GTX 660 releases tomorrow. so if its priced at USD 200 and performs better than HD 7850 you could get that card. if its priced higher get the HD 7850 . very capable card for USD 200. overclocks to 1.15 - 1.2 Ghz and gives close to GTX 580 performance.
 
Newegg Shellshocker today has a MSI N560GTX-Ti 448 Twin Frozr III PE/OC GeForce GTX 560 Ti - 448 Cores (Fermi) 1280MB 320-bit GDDR5 , wont be able to tell if it's a good deal till 01:00PM (PDT)

If it does turn out to be a good price , i might bite on one for brother.

(I have always preferred Nvidia over ATi due to their Drivers , but everyone has different tastes and what not.)

GoodLuck to you and whatever your choice is cause almost anything is going to be a HUGE upgrade from current card.

My GTX+ must be special then. Cuz I can play Skyrim at max at ~40 fps, and BF3 and Witcher2 at near max ~35 fps. As for the rest of my specs, Athlon X2 2.7ghz 8gb ddr2. I know my CPU is holding me back, so don't get me started on that. I'm probably going to throw a Phenom 965 or a 1045t in it soon.

Mailer says 179.99 after 40MIR, so 219. Not bad, but still more expensive than a 7850 OC. *shrug*.
As for drivers, the 301.42 drivers were notirously buggy in my case with my GTX, but I've had bad experiences with ATI drivers in the past too. NVidia just has been the most recent offender, and the worst, as well. (Actually, GW2 is probablly the worst, causing forced system halts on my 4850 2gb x2 XFire system - due to not supporting XFire yet)
 
again you are not playing most games smoothly on max or near max settings at 1920x1080. not only is your 9800gtx+ not capable of that, your cpu is quite poky too.

and I would make that cpu upgrade before or at least at the same time as getting a new gpu or there would be no point in upgrading your gpu.

Smoothly is a matter of opinon. I consider 30+ Smooth/Playable. And again, I know my CPU is an issue, but that's not the matter at hand, and I have that issue under wraps.
