Although there isn't tessellation it certainly says its running directx11. Is it really dx11 or just a glitch? Thoughts?
P.S. When the demo is running in Directx 11 it does tend freeze on screen then suddenly speed up then back to normal speed, when the cameras are switching.

You just discovered that NVIDIA has been having DirectX 11 compatible video cards since 2008!

mehbeh software dx11 an not hardware? idk if thats possible though...

DX11 is downward compatible.

it will not have any DX11 effects or anything... which is you are still running on DX10 rendering ...

Parts of the new API such as multi-threaded resource handling can be supported on Direct3D 9/10/10.1-class hardware. Hardware tessellation and Shader Model 5.0 require Direct3D 11 supporting hardware.

So it's running without those special bits and instead rendering them the way DX10 hardware would.

the DX11 rendering path is also a bit more efficient with DX10 hardware. It mainly has to do with the multi-threading additions that Microsoft added. The only additions that DX11 path brings to DX10 hardware is DirectCompute, albeit it is only 4.0/4.1 instead of 5.0.

Its curious that the first time I ran the test it wouldn't let me do it a few weeks later and it does. Dx11 seems a little glitchy too.
