It should work fine, other than the Nvidia 680i chipset being junk for socket 775. Whatever processor you end up running in there won't be anywhere near it's full potential.

yeah not the best board for 775 but really didn't have alot of options with these old boards.
 
i'm guessing he already owns the board.. if you do yes the cards will work fine in SLI.. now if you don't own the second 9800GT i suggest not getting it.. the second card really doesn't add anything since you are ram limited long before you become gpu limited. its annoying because even with my 8800GT's in SLI my gpu's barely get used since i can't increase the graphics enough in most games.

this is good to know. no I havn't purchased the 2nd card yet I was just gathering prices/info. I was actually thinking about trying out the 3 way sli with 3 cards since I can get them for around $40ea. But it looks like its not a viable option.

Its a smart move, I had an 8800GT SLI back in Jan. of 2008, and I wasn't impressed. I would use the money for a different setup
