The ati 9800 xt only has one notch while the ati 9800 pro 256mb version has two notches. I read somewhere that all 8x cards must adhere to AGP 3.0 which requires the card to be 0.8 volts. I also read that AGP 8x cards can run at 1.5 volts without being damaged, they are just not gaurenteed to run properly.

one of my mobo manuals states that the one notch agp is 3.3v and that the double notch is 1.5 volts. I do not think this is correct becasue of what I read earlier. How come the 9800 pro and 9800 xt are keyed differently?

thanks for the help,
Zack
