9800 XT/CoD question

I'm running a stock 9800 XT with a 3.0 GHz HT processor and a gig of Dual Channel RAM. Anyway, since this is supposed to be flat out the best card on the market, I had a few questions. When I play CoD with the quality maxed out on it, I still get some framerate drops. Especially in Brecourt, it drops as low as 30 fps. Is there something I'm doing wrong with my settings and such? If so, what do I need to do to fix it? Main thing is, without overclocking it, I want the best quality picture with a stable and high framerate.

Any help here would be mucho appreciated.
 
If you're trying to play 6XAA.16XAF at 16x12 or some other crazy setting, no card on the market can handle those settings in CoD. Period.
