My problem started a week ago when I was playing OFP for about a hour. After that my monitor looked distorted with lines and glitches. I turned off OFP and restarted my computer and when I came back and tried to start it up again, OFP gave me an error and crashed. I was running 6.11 Cats when I ran into this problem. I've had this card for about three years now and this is my second one after my 1st one failed and Dell replaced but with my warranty up I wanted to see if any other members could give me help before I decide to call up Dell and their b.o.h.i.c.a policy.

I got this error when starting up the ArmA demo.

And this error message from WoW

sounds like the card is failing
9800 is old old tech anyways was probably time for an upgrade, you can spend very little and double your performance.

It's disappointing, but that is a frequent problem with the 9800's. In reality, they were little more than overclocked 9700's with some software tweaks built in to the associated drivers. I have had luck with using somekind of tweak tool like Rivatuner or ATI Tray Tools to actually underclock the card, and that has sometimes fixed the corrupt display. If underclocking doesn't work, or if you don't like the idea anyway, finding a nice, cheap AGP 6600GT on Ebay might be a good way to go.

Browse through the HF's FS/FT forums, I see a lot of AGP cards for sale. Good luck :p
