$220 vs $430

I dont see how anyone can justify the newer card. Are there benchmarks that warrant a $200 difference? I could be wrong, but no way jose
 
Other than the extra 128MB, which isn't enough to justify $200 by any means, there would be no other reason to buy an XT.
 
i know the 9800 XT's are great but it really is not worth the extra 200 bucks
 
i just settled for a 9800pro with 256mb cheaper and does just as good :p

Trolling? I think the point is what a great deal the 9800pro currently is. Sure the 9800xt is a bit faster, but the cost for that extra bit of speed is considerable. I'm going to pick up a 9800pro 128mb pretty soon to replace an aging 8500 128mb card in my backup machine.

I hope I don't regret not waiting for the r420.
 
Man I am getting a 9800 128mb that is pretty good and i am getting it for like $200 so who cares about spending anohter 200 for something that isn't that great.. I mean i am sure it is great and all i haven't done to much research into it but i mean with the exception of like doom 3 and halflife 2 and a couple other games coming out u really don't need it.. just an my though is all..

what are you talking about? I am considering purchasing a new card and had a question about why one was much more expensive than another. I had an initial opinion and hoped others would opine. I think you take this thing too seriously
