neweggs got sapphire radeon 9800 se's for 163.

is it a good deal or is it this cheap for a reason? i was under the impression that even np 9800's were at least 200.

anyone know if this card overclocks to pro speeds and how good it will be at stock?

9800SE is about on par (if not slower) than a 9600 Pro.

the only 9800SE worth looking into has to meet these requirements:

1. Be based on a Red 9700 PCB
2. Have 1 VGA, 1 DVI, and 1 S-video port
3. Made by Power-Color
4. Have L-Shaped BGA ram chips

If it is a 9800SE and does not meet those requirements, it is not worth getting as it will not softmod to 9800 Pro specs.

Hope this clears any confusion

There was a tread about this not to long ago, ATI SE cards are shit get a 9500/9700Pro or get a 9600XT and don't ever look at those SE cards again.
