9800 pro vs 6800 nu

Here is the deal I am pondering

6800 deal from BB for $250 or a used 9800 pro for $150? Base system is a 3200+ XP + 1 GB RAM on a NF7 motherboard.

either card is great for thier pricetag.. 6800nu for 250 is great and 9800pro for 150 is great.. depending on how much u want to spent... i'd go for the 6800nu myself because it'll last u longer and you "might" be able to get that thing to unlock 16 pipelines and an a modest overclock and u got urself a close but not quite performer to the GT ;) or the 9800pro-->9800xt flash.. and o yeah make sure hte 9800 pro is a 256bit version too... but yeah it's ur money and depends on how much you want to spend..
 
I was looking for a budget/mainstream card a week or so ago and ran into the same card choice dilema.

It all depends on what you are going to be using it for and how hard you are going to be pushing the games.

I ended up going with the 6800NU because I wanted to be able to turn on ALL the eye candy in every game out today and have it still play decently at 1024 or 1280, (not counting AA). I didnt really care about future proofing my card because im going to be RE-upgrading again over summer. Its all about what you want it to do and how long you want it to keep doing that as newer games come out.

Check out the reviews on both these cards on the mainpage and then decide what would better fit your needs.
 
I decided to go (acutally just bought) a 9800 pro from a forum member. For $130, I don't think I could go wrong. I feel that my little ol 3200+ XP just wouldn''t do a 6800 series card justice...

Next year i'll buy a nice A64 setup with a nice new shiny vid card. Thanks to everyone for their response.
