9800 pro problems........

I currently have a radeon 9800 pro running in the agp slot of my computer. I have a motherboard that supports agp 8x, yet my card is only being recieved as a pci slot card. When i go into the advanced setting of my display and try to turn on agp 8x it won't allow me. I just checked my bios and it is set for agp and everything else seems good to go. I also just instally the new 4.3 catalyst so its not that either. Any suggestions on how to fis this problems.......please reply.... Ty
 
1st question... Does your motherboard support AGP 8x? It might not.
