i just got my built by ati 9800pro. but when i play far cry my comp reboots after playing for 5 min. or so. and when i log onto windows i got an error saying that the display driver for 9800pro is seems to be responsible for the system instability. so i reintalled catalyst 4.1 to 4.4 and ran driver cleaner each time i even reinstalled via hyperion 4in1 and still no luck.
and the only thing i can think thats causing the problem is my psu (codegen 350w) is this a generic brand? it came with my atx case
so if i upgrade my psu will it solve my problem? cause i never had any problems like this before with my 9600xt

I see you´re mixing ram, try removing the 128mb dimm and see if it helps.

A clean install, after flashing to latest bios always helps a lot, remember to get 4in1´s 4.51 and Cats 4.3 (my favorites)

Good Luck :D

hmm... i didnt know im not supposed to mix 512 with 128 pc2700
well i guess that says im a noob
:D
but i never had this problem before though since i built this pc 2 months ago and in that two months ive gone to 5 different vcard
starting with bfg fx5200 pci, gainward fx5200 agp, gigabyte 9600se, powercolor 9600xt (thanks to 30day return), and my current vcard 9800pro. anyways i have the via 4.51 installed and im gonna try to uninstall the 128 ram. do u think i should upgrade my psu or sould i just wait till i need it? thanks

Yeah, I'd suggest getting a new PSU.
Most power supplies that come with the case, just suck!
They work, but they usually don't provide clean power, and in some cases, it might not give enoungh power.

I'd suggest getting a PSU from a brand name company such as Enermax. I'd also recommend getting one that is 480+ watts, as the new Geforce 6, 6800 requires it, that way you'll be ready for the future.

:D

yeah... im thinking about getting a kingwin 3 fans 450watts from zipzoom. cause from what ive read 430psu should be enough for 6800nu or even ultra.:)
