I have searched, but haven't found an answer for this. I have a Maze 4 gpu waterblock on my 9800 Pro, and some aluminum ramsinks on all but the two ram chips in front of the water block's barbs, because they stand too high. Right now I have my 9800 pro at 440 core, 378 memory. Is this good, or can I be shooting for higher? I have used ATI tool to overclock.
 
You should be able to go beyone 440 on the core. My old 9800 pro did 440 on the stock cooler. Maybe a voltage mod is necessary.
 
The GPU volt mod on the 9800 is possibly the easiet one to do ever. It looks like it is made to be that simple.
 
I'm up to 460 core, 380 memory now, still 100% stable. What do you think is the area where I should start being more cautious (ie: my limit).
 
How high do you need to go? you already have a respectable oc on the card. Generally go as high as you can before you begin to see artifacts on the screen then back off about 5mhz. Use ATItool so that you can see the effects on your card while you are doing it. Play a few games with it. In most cases the memory will start to fail before the core.
 
I'm at 450/380 on water, no volt mods with an R360 core (XT-flashed). Your oc looks good for stock voltage. The old R350 cores could be clocked higher than the new R360 cores, but the R360 does more work per cycle.

The Rojakpot articles on volt modding these cards is great. Just gotta solder to a couple pads and you're set. The last time I tried soldering to a chip's leg, the pin broke. :mad:
 
9800pro will OC all damn day.

Quit posting so much until YOU find the max OC.
All 9800's are different.

I had one that did 475Mhz all day on the core. Pencil lead it if you wanna try more, or just sauder the voltage controller. I volt modded my old 9800pro and it was fine at 516Mhz all day.

Every card is different. Just play with it and READ.
