I have an 9800 pro 256, I was wounder how would i go about getting to run at 9800 x/t settings, By overclocking it. If someone could help me threw it, be really greatfull
Thanks

DL ATItool here: http://www.techpowerup.com/atitool/

It is a free OCing tool for your Vidcard. It works very well. I have found that you can usually OC a few Mhz (5 or less) past the max that the tool finds for you in both core and ram speeds. The tool will take you way past XT speeds.

Thanks Much, What are the settings on the xt ??/?? and what should i set my to, i dont want to fry it :p

Just a note, atitool fuckz0red my 9800Pro. Minimal increase isnt worth the risk with stock cooler.

Thanks for the tip, i have not done anything yet, but i would like to flash it to x/t and get a better coolier, what i am looking into now, if anyone knows of a good one for the 9800pro let me know, i want to OC it past x/t here soon

Assuming you can OC it past those speeds, I still wouldnt really recommend it if its under warranty. The gain wont be beneficial enough to void your warranty by removing the heatsink, etc. If its not under warranty anymore, than mod away. =p...

Might just wanna think about getting a new card, more bragging rights, woot.

for some reason each time i oc my card as soon as i hit a 3d game or application or reebot my machine it sets the settings to default  how can i fix this ?

umm...i'm assuming ur using AtiTool? if you are, there is the "2d" and "3d" settings on the left side....set those to whatever ur overclock is, and voila! it should work...if not, sorry :p

For my XT flash, I followed the guide over at rojakpot.com. I waited until my watercooling loop was running before I overclocked my video card though, since the stock cooler is pretty bad.

I used ATItool to find my max overclock, but I use RadLinker for setting the clocks now.

I have my 9800 pro set at 400/350 with stock cooling and everything is going good for now, should i push past that? or just wait till i get a better cooling setup?

Stock cooling really is quite terrible on these cards. I did 430/390 with a Arctic cooling cooler and OCZ ram heatsinks on it. On water now so Core is going up.

ATI tool burns up memory, the "default" core it finds is too high. Do the memory manully. And don't get consumed in it. I had a 9800pro that did 516mhz core.......before it died....

you were more than likely using an older version of ati tool, as some releases were known to OC without limit and care for it autoscanning for artifacts. the newer versions i havent had a problem with. it pushes my 9800 to about 440 for a few mins lets it sit there finds an artifact and starts to back down after the heat builds up and causes errors. for a free tool you cant really complain to much ya know :p

Well seeing i just my Rad Card a week ago, i have decided not to OC it because i dont want to void the warrenty incase something does happen within the next year, i really dont it ubber settings, most i play is RON or Farcry
