I got a MSI 9800 pro 128mb a couple days ago and have been looking around on how to oc it and have been hearing you can flash the bios up to the xt. but i was reading in http://rojakpot.com/ and it says that this card i have can not be modded.

"Radeon 9800 Pro with R360 core, Unknown PCB

This is the latest card design from MSI and Medion. It uses a non-reference PCB design, with a floppy drive power connector in the center of the card. These cards also use cheaper capacitors, unlike other Radeon 9800 Pro cards based on the ATI reference design.

This card will NOT work with standard 9800 XT BIOS, therefore they are not moddable.
"

There is a picture right next to it an it looks exactly like mine.

Is this true or is there anyway i can get around it? any help is apreciated. i know i can still just plan oc it but i was hoping to flash the bios too.

not all of them are modable. I have read quite a few articles on it and your GPU has bee a certian chip and revision for it to work. also ATI may have started not shipping those types for the 9800 pros. also you can just OC it to the XT speeds, if it wont work at those speeds without the bios flash its not gonna work with it.

ok thanks. once i get a fan for it like the artic 5 or something ill try ocing it but now i dont want to do anything cause it just has the normal stock fan.
