my system gave me a blue screen (not bsod) last might while playing my favorite multiplayer game. i was o/c'ing my card so i thought it was a heat issue. i set the clock speeds back to default and rebooted. all seems fine but when i play that same game, i get freeze ups quite often. some are only for a second or two and others actually freeze the system. do you think my card is going bad? how can i test it? i ran 3dmard03 and all seems fine but something tells me all is not well.

That sounds scary how much did you overclock? Did you use stock cooling or 3rd party? Do you get artifacts?

i used the stock cooling. see sig for oc info. i never saw an artifact. any program out there that tells you if your card is failing or do you just wait for the kill?

if its just on that one game, i dont think its really your card. Try reinstalling the game

that would make me happy. i really don't feel like buying a new card. can you get a video card repaired? anyone gone this route?

Have you used that card for a while or you just recently upgraded to that? If you had a nVidia card before you installed ati card and you didn't format your drive i strongly suggest you do. THAT IS if you recently upgraded.

no. i've had this card for a while. i had a 9600 pro before this. i have also formatted more than once.

well i really think its a game issue...allot of these new games coming out are packed with glitches and holes that need to be addressed in patch updates. try uninstalling and reinstalling the game its most likely not your videocard.
