9800 Pro Dual Moniter Problems

I am having some problems using dual moniters with my 128mb 9800 Pro. I have dual 21" Sony CDP-G520 moniters set up but the one connected via the DVI connector has vertical banding/striping at the edges and the text isnt very clear. I swapped the moniters and the cables, even purchased a new dvi-vga adapter and I am still getting these problems. Has anyone else experienced this or have some possible solutions.

are you using an extension VGA cable to connect your second monitor? that could be the problem.. you want that extension cable to be coaxil
