I had a TI 4400 video card on this pc before, and I had no problems running counter strike. Since i took out the ti 4400 and put in this 9800 pro, cs 1.6 runs very choppy, but says it is getting 100 fps.... anyone else have this problem before and know how to fix it?

you try uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers?

use driver cleaner?

did you up the resolution for gaming with new card?

Yeah I uninstalled the old drivers, used driver cleaner, then installed new drivers. My resolution is 1152x864 on a 17 inch flat crt. No idea why it runs like this :/ Source runs perfect, half life 2 runs perfect, but 1.6 or half life 1 run like ass.

try the next higher/lower resolution. the resolution your running on isnt a common one

I think there was an option in CS 1.6 to switch between DirectX and OpenGL.

You might wanna try switching from whatever your using now to the other and see if that makes any difference for you.

I used to have the same problem with my old ATi 9800PRO, I just didn't play CS and got a new 6800NU a few months later. Now I have the 6800Ultra and have no problems in any games.

well thats not a fix. not everyone has the money to get a new card, i think he wants it fixed rather then getting a new card
