I recently upgraded to an ATI 9800 Pro 128MB from a Geforce 2 Ti 64MB DDR. I really love the dual display
However, I get 100% CPU usage when playing CS 1.6 via Steam. It use to be 15-20% CPU usage with my old Geforce 2 Ti. WTF is going on? I uninstalled my old nVidia drivers and ran Driver Cleaner before installing the ATI 4.11's. Then I tried the latest Omega's... still 100% CPU Usage. I even tried reformating with a slipstreamed XP Pro SP2. Same BS!
Maybe there is a patch or something for Steam/CS? I don't play any other games, so I can't test the card out with anything else.
Currently, I'm using the latest Omega drivers with nForce drivers v5.10. Maybe my 1900+ is too slow?
System Specs:
Athlon XP 1900+
Thermaltake Volcano 7 + Arctic Silver 3
Asus A7N8X Deluxe (Rev 1.06 : Bios 1008)
Corsair XMS TwinX 512MB PC3200 Cas2
ATI 9800 Pro 128MB
WD 74GB Raptor (System)
HighPoint RocketRAID 133
2x WD 80GB 8MB (RAID-0 : 64k Stripe)
WD 100GB 2MB (Storage)
nForce2 Nvidia NIC
nForce2 Nvidia SoundStorm
Any feedback would be appreciated.
