Hardforum, i ask for your help to prove my friend HEATON00 that he is wrong.

He told me that there is no difference between a

9800 Pro 128MB DDR 128bit and a 9800 Pro 128MB DDR 256bit.

He says that the 9800 Pro 128MB DDR 256bit is not faster then the 9800 Pro 128MB DDR 128bit.

Please tell him he is wrong. He does not believe me, that the 9800 Pro 128MB DDR 256bit is faster than and better than the 9800 Pro 128MB DDR 128bit.

He also briefly stated the 9800SE as being better then the 9800 PRO.

Please tell him he is wrong in this thread.

He does not believe me. BTW, he can't get off the fact that i am not talking about physical amount of memory but i am talking about memory bus, so he trys to compare 128MB cards vs 256MB cards and show me that i am wrong.
 
there is usually no helping people that will not believe the facts... I would just ignore him and know I have the better card.

256 bit memory interface ==faster than 128 bit mem interface
9800SE < 9800 PRO

(terms... != means IS NOT EQUAL TO, ==faster means IS FASTER, < means IS LESS THAN)

this is all coming from someone that has had over ten years experience as a computer technician, and well over a year experience as head tech of a computer store.
Also... self-made computer hardware expert.

He kicked me out of his house while i was trying to explain this to him. He wouldn't belive me that the memory bus is what counts in this situation.
 
so let him be an idiot that treats their friends like crap. if someone did that to me I would have nothing to do with them until at the very least they apologized.

haahha, what a prick. I would have forgiven him if he wasn't on teh forums but for gods sake, there has been endless threads about how sapphire are releasing crippled 9800 pros with 128bit memory bus and softmodding a 9800 SE into a pro/XT. Why would a user want to convert his SE in a pro/XT if it performs worse? If he fails to acknowledge this simple fact, then go with ThisMonsterLives and find smarter friends.

How can I tell if my 9800pro is 128 or 256 bit?

I have a sapphire 9800 pro bulk btw.

ANd how do i tell if my card is running at AGP 8X?

In the SMARTGART panel it shows as off (not AGP 4 or 8) and if i set it to 8X the computer restarts and it isn't at 8X
