I built my system a year ago and as always in the situations a compromise had to be made on components- I bought a Sapphire 9600 ultimate ed as a 9800 was too pricey then.

My box as you can see is resonable well speced and my Xp2500 runs very happy at 3200 (50c temp at full throttle with far cry) combined with a gig of ddr ram at 400htz. my current card will not be able to handle doom 3 etc at a resonable rate so a new card is in order. What is the best choice of card for my set up, Is the 9800 pro with 256ddr a good match or shoul I jump a generation to x800. I am trying to keep the system balanced-no point spending cash on a component that is helf up by the rest of the system.

any advice welcome

6800? if not then X800 at least. 9800 Pro isn't what it used to be.

no, not because it works better..but because the card performs *slightly* better...

ok stick with ati but lower or higher end x800- hign eng ones cost about 450 euro and more. will a basic x800 tax my existing hardare to it potential limit or should I starve for a month and go high end
