So I purchased a 9800 GX2 off ebay to use in my computer.

Brisbane 3600+
Corsair HX620 PSU

Once I put the card in the computer and try to start it, nothing happens. It will not power on. If I remove the 8 PIN PCI-e connector then try to boot it, it will come on. However it will NOT come on with the 8 PIN PCI-e connector, the 6 PIN is ok, but it wont boot with both of them. Any idea on what the problem might be?

Crap, I'm using the 8 pin MOTHERBOARD connector in the video card! Crap! Hope I didn't fry it.

How did you manage to get it to fit? I was pretty sure the pinouts are not even physically compatible unless you forced it in there?

They seemed to be pretty stiff, but it really wasn't THAT hard to push it in. It was about as difficult as pushing in a 4 pin molex connector for like a case fan honestly.

I got the adapter and it works just fine.
