9800 GTX Compatibility

Hello,

I was curious to know if the nVIDIA 9800 GTX (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130339) will be compatible with my ASUS A8N SLI-Deluxe (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131540) motherboard? I would hate to have to purchase a new motherboard because of the fact that the 9800 GTX is supported by PCI-E 16x 2.0. my Mobo isn't PCI-E 2.0 , just a standard PCI-E 16x slot.

If anyone can please let me know what works there.

It will work fine, and not even slow the card down.

Early runs of the 8800GT (nVidia's first 2.0 card) were incompatible with some 1.0a motherboards; that is the only known incompatibility.

No single-GPU card exceeds PCI-E 1.x 16x bandwidth yet; you need dual-GPU cards like the 4870X2 or GTX 295 before that happens, and even then it's not by much.
