Hey guys. The quality of the picture on my AIW 9800 pro to go up. It really looks horribly grainy and somewhat distorted. Anyone know how to fix this?

Also, could someone recommend me a good piece of PVR software or tell me of a good tutorial for the ATi stuff.

RMA it? If it looks bad, then something is wrong

Don't expect blazing graphics if you are using the TV tuner. The reason its grainy is because the monitor has resolution that can't compare to your TV. The only solution to this would be to hook up a digital receiver through your video imput and use that.

The AIW cannot accept HDTV unless it is the HDTV model, which isn't out yet. HDTV on PC is far more easy on the eyes, though not widespread yet.

Your picture is about as good as it gets with the AIW series of analog tuners, currently. I've owned two. That's on par.

go through s-video or get some good coax cables. i have digital cable and had bad video on the standard channels. the ones you get through normal cable. i put a new coax cable on and everything looks good now.

Sadly, that is the quality that analog NTSC television looks like when displayed on a monitor. There is nothing *wrong* with it.

Sometimes you can get a slightly better picture if you have a digital cable box or VCR that has a S-Video out which you can hook up to your S-video in on the AIW. This may slightly improve the picture quality over a coaxial cable in direct to the AIW, but don't expect miracles.

If it is coming from a Coaxial analog Cable TV system, you might want to invest a few bucks and use high quality RG-6 rated cabling. It will reduce the "fuzziness" if you are still using RG-59 cabling. If you are splitting the cable, it might be time to invest in a good coaxial amplifier.
