9700pro or 5900 faster?

I currently have an evga 5900se that is flashed to a 5900. I'm thinking about trading it to a guy for his 9700pro. I play alot of fps games. Will my system be alittle faster with it? I think I'm gonna trade just want to make sure. I get 5489 with 3dmark03 now. Here are system specs. Thanks

P4 2.6c
Asus P4P800
2 x corsair 512 3200
nvidia 5900
 
As much as I love ATI, stick with the nVidia for now. No sense in upgrading now anyway, save for the line of cards after the X800, I know it sounds long... but you're 5900 will last until then and even the X800 can have problems with games like FarCry.. and if you think FarCry is punishing just wait 6 months.
 
it's an even trade, just cost me shipping. And the benchmarks I'v seen, the 9700 is faster.
 
Yeah, but its really not worth ripping out the other card IMO.

Unless of course you plan to reformat anyways, and want to see firsthand what the differences are.
