can you flash your 9700np to a 9800np or pro?

and if so has anyone had luck with this?

It's possible but you won't get any of the enhancements to the core (F-buffer, etc..), you're better off just saving time and overclocking it.

your specs are really close to mine, what kind of a gain did you get from overclocking your card

What kind of gains? There were the typical gains in synthetic benches and whatnot...

It's impossible. 9700=R300 core, 9800=R350 core. They are actually different chips. Rivatuner as a script to "force" 9800 capabilities on a 9700 series card, but all it does is give a superficial bump in benchmarks. You could flash to a 9700 Pro and get about the same performance as a 9800 Pro.

As far as speeds go: 9700np < 9800np < 9700P < 9800P < 9800XT
