9700 to 9800pro = +600 3dmark

i upgraded from 9500np(hardmod, 9800np bios) to 9800se(hardmod, 9800pro bios) but diff in 3dmark is only around 600 when they are o/c to max.

xp2500+@2200(210x10.5), R9500@R9700(365/285) = 5300 3dmark
now
xp2500+@2000(183x11), R9800SE@9800Pro(380/340) = 5300 3dmark
xp2500+@2200(183x12), R9800SE@9800Pro(440/360) = 5900 3dmark

9800se cant seem to handle the high agp bus, about 92mhz is the max.

i would try and tweak that some more , i just tested at 5221 on my sig. U should be able to get more out of that system.

my old 9500 np got 5600 3dmark 03.. havent ran it with my 9800 pro ... got better things to do.

ohh and why are you changing your agp clock? leave it at 66.

im runnin it on 8k3a (kt333), agp bus is fixed via fsb, 184mhz is highest stable fsb with 9800se unlike 9500np.

3dmark01 scores are even tighter, 14300 vs 14600, 16500 vs 16900.

wow nice catch, i really havent done any benchmarking since then, i have never ran 3dmark 03 though with my 9800 pro. i did run aquamark again once after reformatting and got a sweet 46000 so i am content now, although initially i was not happy with my upgrade.

i just think that the a 9500 softmod and nice o/c is just such a good deal that most ppl with it will be disapointed in a 9800 pro and the money they spent on it, i was lucky because i got mine for building a pc for a buddy.

although a 9800 se softmod is even a nicer deal and congrats on that.. but those 3dmark 01 scores are unsettling(when compared to your 9500), and this is with the 4.2 cats? my 01 scores were 17200 w/ 9500 -- 18500 x/ 9800, but this is with the pro, and i havent ran 3dmark 01 since my format and new gpu cooler.
