Hey guys , I got my new pc up and running and when i play WC3, Cs, COD, Ut2k3 i get these crazy artifact type things. Its not just little checkordboards its like when u go spectator on q3 or hl game and go out off the map and the screen moves and stuff when u move and its all smeared everywhere, its like that on ut2k3. It checkard boards on models and some walls on counter strike. Just goes wild on COD.

I have a 2500 Barton, Abit NF7, 768 pc-2100 ram.
I just flashed my bios to the newest version and updated my nforce drivers. I have Cat10 and reinstalled it many times. I have Windows XP SP1. I done everything. My system is running at 33cpu and 23 case. I really doubt its heating becuase theres a Tt Orb heatsink on it with ram sinks on both sides and i have a 80mm side fan blowing right on it, I had that fan blowing out and in , and it still had the same effect. The Heatsink fan is working right.

I done everything i could do mostly on the software, and took the card out, uplugged everything , pluged back in and whatever. I never really seen this kind of a problem, because if its weird if its the card itself because if i shoked it in anyway it would have just been dead. But its up and running , Works perfect till i hit the games.

Please help, i had 2 guys helping me on AIM and really have no clue what to do now
 
Did you try to flash it to a PRO or overclock? Reflash the original BIOS, and backdown on the o/c. If you didn't do either of those, you should think about RMA
 
i didnt oc it, i even under clocked 15 mhz on mem and core. Cant RMA has Tt Crystal orb. I just re applied the heatsink with some AS cerciume (spelling), Ill reflash it to 9700 if it wont work now
 
Yep, its mostly official. My 9700 is a POS now. Artifacts instany in mark03 with 20mhz underclocked
 
Must've broke something installing the crystal orb.

Sucks man =(.

That's one reason why I've been hesitant to install a 3rd party cooler on this puppy (even though that IceBerg cooler thing looks wicked).

nah, i didnt break anything, it was workin yesterday, runnin ut2k3 highest on everything runnin at 1024x768 and completted 3dmark03 no artifats, got 4000 some with this stock speed 2500 and 2100 ram. Im gonna buy an iceburge and see if it is the cooling, cuz some people had troubles with the Tt becuase its not flat and u need alot of thermal paste on and i dont know whats too much and too little for the lil bastard.

I bought it for 140$ off this one dude, but i dont think it was a bad card when he sent it because it ran pretty the first day and i was changin stuff around and that card just went shit. Seems like permanent damage , i hope not though
 
Like I said, most likely something is broken.

Wether or not you did it is a moot point. Sucks either way :(

It *might* be a cooling issue. See if you can re-attach the stock cooler.
