960T Unlocked

So far i unlocked all 6 cores at default voltage running at 3300mhz still testing the system..

One thing that is a bit weird is that i can't see the right temps using AOD, 3.2 works for me (no temps Well 16C but i doubt that is true) 4.05 wont work from shortcut.

CPU-Z pics please ;)

Glad to hear it's working. I believe temperature monitoring always breaks when you unlock cores, so that's pretty normal.

I never thought of saying this ever but Easytune6 worked for me :). Yet that program is not something i recommend for anything else :) .

So far im hitting 3500 on stock voltage :) .

Unsure, that was an older cpu-z pic. I have played with the voltage more since then. I have had this up to 4.2ghz but it was getting hot/flaked out. When I turn off the 2 extra cores the temps fall down through the floor, when I turn on the other 2, the temps skyrocket up.

For me, 6 cores stable and not going over 50c is 3.77 Ghz with 2.7 HT an NB speeds. I only need 1.35V with about 10% headroom allow for voltage under load.

Sabertooth 990FX

Mem was my only issue, so it's like 1550, 7-8-7-7-24 and 1T That 1T is not possible at the rated 1600 speed. The mem is rated the same, but 2T at stock.

Voltage in bios is set at 1.425 and the LLC at extreme.

Wow, 1.5v to hit 3.8ghz? I was able to hit 3.8 on all six cores with stock voltage. I was concerned somewhat with what the default MAX TDP shows once you unlock though, but haven't given it much thought lately:

Yeah I was hoping it would not take so much voltage. May cut 2 cores and crank it more.

Yeah my 960T didn't unlock so I just went for the best clock I could get on air.

I can boot well over 4.4GHz and it's not stable.

1.4v... YIKES. If you brought down the HT speed, you might have a more stable OC. I know that my 955 is stable at 1.4v at higher clocks (close to 4.4GHz), but I have to be very careful not to over-stress the HT, which usually means slower RAM.

Then again, Thuban and Deneb are completely different structured chips.

I tried to push it as a quad last night and couldn't keep it stable at anything over 4ghz, even with the voltage I am adding now!

CPU-z reports 1.425 volts before I put any load on it, and once I put a load it jumps to 1,5xx.

I have not seen anything as of yet that is really cut and dry as to what these can handle in terms of volts. It seems the AMD side is really wishy-washy.

Currently hitting a brick wall at 1.45V and it doesnt want to do 3900 mhz when using stability test (AOD). Do you guys also give cpu NB extra voltage ?

** after adding some voltage to NB it seems stable at 3900 mhz, sadly 4000mhz wont make it past the windows login screen.
Maybe something todo with the 790fx and magic 20 modifier?

I'm using a gigabyte 970a-ud3. Got 3 of them here actually and good results with g.skill ripjaws ram. I have some black pcb g.skill that one box would not OC period, no matter how conservative the mem settings where. Popped in some rip jaws and off she went.

I see a lot of forums on google that claim you need a 750w psu which seems insane. I am using a 500w on 2 of the boards. The 960t is an 850w corsair but also has a raid card and 14 hard drives.

I only needed extra voltage on the CPU-NB when running the NB @ speeds greater than 2600.

My 960T will do 3.9GHz @ 1.30v if I keep the NB @ 2600. It will also do 4.3GHz @ 1.40v if I keep the NB @ 2600. I need to up the CPU Vcore to 1.44v if I run the NB around 3000 @ 4.3GHz as well.

I need to set the CPU-NB @ 1.30v if I run around 3000 on the NB.

Try 191 * 21? I've read posts claiming the 20 multiplier can be problematic, but who knows the validity of that claim. Worth a shot though.

Try turning off super extreme load line, and just set cpu to 1.5 volts, and letting it sag under load for best stability.

I gave up oc'ing memory, and concluded if one wants faster memory, buy faster memory. They seem to bin sticks right at the limit these days.

I'm @ X4 4.0 @ 1.44 vcore. I UNLOCKED with 880GA-UD3H to an X6 but didn't that many cores running.

mobo = M4N98TD Evo
BIOS = 1301

3.8GHz, cpu 1.4v,

I did not even turn the nVidea unleash mode on, I had left it on 'auto' since my previous CPU - 555 BE - did not have a stable unlock. The 960T on boot reports as a 1065T and the only thing I have had to do is drop my RAM from 1866 to 1800 or I would get an irregular BSOD.

Great CPU even at 4 cores it can take a HUGE OC.

Unlocked to 6 cores using gigabyte GA-MA790GP-UD4H with bios F7C, stable 48hrs of prime.

They have this chip (960t) for 99.99 at some Microcenters. That's a hell of a deal when u get those 6 cores running! Looks like alot of success unlocking these chips! Plus they're BE! Dang nice chip for 100 buckaroos!

AM3 platform has had alot of variety in CPU's the longest lasting most affordable bang for the buck platform in my eyes. I have never regretted my purchase of it!

I have 2 of these.
My first is on a Gigabyte 990fxa ud3 rev 1.1 and it unlock all 6 cores and I am running at 3.7 ghz at 2800nb and 1600 ddr3 kingston hyperX 2x4gig. I am running 1.36 vcore and 1.3 nb cpu voltage. mem timings at 9 9 9 27 36. I think I could go 4ghz but don't wanna push it being I don't know what the exact temps are. I run a 33C in the bios not under load.

The next one is in another Gigabyte 990fxa ud3 rev 1.1. I should be putting it together tomorrow maybe for my brother. Hopefully it unlocks also.

If the other one doesn't pass the test that your BIOS says it needs todo then yes.
