ATI Sapphire Ultimate Radeon 9600XT will not work with my system... NF7-SV2.0 AMD Athalon 2500+ 512 MB Corsair RAM. I Got this new vid card today from newegg, I installed all the drivers and software that I need for this card. It goes through BIOS setup fine, but when I get to the windows logo/login screen it starts to look like a bad tv station (like when it doesnt decode the images properly) and then my system just crashes. I went to my friends house to try it in his system, and it worked fine (I dont know his exact specs). I put it back in my system and same issue happens. So now I have my old 8500 in right now, and it works fine.

So Im wondering does anyone know of a bad compatibility issue between this card and my mobo? Or did I just get a picky card that doesnt want to work with my system.

Everything on my comp is up to date, all drivers, software, etc. Im gonna call ATI and see if they have a resolution to my problem, and if they dont and I dont come up with a solution here, then Ill just send it back for a replacement...

although i have heard of compatability issues w/some nforce boards... your problem seem to be the result of a bad card... is this a new card or a refurb?

Well that if it is new... you should RMA it. If it is refurbished ur screwed in my mind. I have never herd of anything like that.

Im RMA it I didnt get anything from ATI customer support since they are est and close at 7... so Ill just email them. But either way Im sending it in to be replaced.

Odd problem though, I have never seen it happen.

If you can get into the vid card settings, try turning off fastwrites. It has some compatibility problems on some boards.

It is under the SmartGuart tab, if I remember correctly.

Good luck!
