9600XT and Rev3 arctic cooler

[Main Target]

well iwas installing this thing and iwas hacing trouble lining up the screws so the screw kepy on puling away from the holes. well everytime that happened (being the dumbass that i am) i too kthe rev 3 silencer put more goo and then finally i got the things screwed in... my question is... too much goo= bad?
also i dunno why when i look into my computer the vga silencer looks slanted, and if u look proportioned to the PCI slots it isnt straight.

also theres a lip on the face plate of the video card that the end of the silencer hits... bad?

i need help!
