Im looking to buy the 2005FPW but am wondering if my 9600xt is powerful enough to display an image on the monitor. Stupid question? Sorry if it is, just need some reassurance.
 
Non Games - I wouldn't worry

Games - Depends on a few things....

My 9800xt strains to play at the native resolution. Vsync is not an option for me (in most all the newer games) if I want to run at native resolution. Shame because I really like vsync on LCD's.

Some games scale very well and I do not have problems playing them below the native resolution.
 
the 9600XT is enough for displaying images on your monitor.

The difference comes when you want to play games @ native resolution. I run a stock 9800 Pro and I can definitely say that its nowhere near as powerful to run the monitor at its native resolution. So around xmas time, Im hopin for a big upgrade.

I have a 9600XT powering a 2405FPW. It runs Windows and other non-graphic intensive programs fine, but if I were to game at native res it wouldnt run at all.
