I'm thinking about getting a 9600Pro. I would like to see what amounts of FPS you are getting with current games.

So, could you list your system specs (or sig) with the 9600Pro, which game, and the FPS you are getting with that current (DX8 or DX9) game?

Thank you!

I don't know about the exact FPS, but heres a list of some of the games that run smoothly, and some of my IQ settings:

Unreal II - Pretty Smooth, 45+ Fps, 2x AA
Unreal Tournament 2003 - Very Smooth, 45+ Fps, 2x AA/ 4x AF
Max Payne - Like Butter, 60+ Fps, 6x AA/ 16x AF
Max Payne 2 - Like Butter, 60+ Fps, 4x AA/ 8x AF
Call of Duty - Very Smooth, 50+ Fps, 2x AA/ 4x AF
Battlefield 1942 - Like Butter, 60+ Fps, 6x AA/ 16x AF
NFS:U - Pretty Smooth, 40+ Fps, No AA/AF (motion blur, light trails)
Soldier of Fortune 2 - Like Butter, 55+ Fps, 4x AA/ 4x AF
Warcraft III - Like Butter, 60+ Fps, 4x AA

Keep in mind that it may dip below the posted Fps, but overall they run extremely playable. I am thouroughly satisfied with my 9600 Pro.

If you can get the extra cash go for a saphire 9600xt, One of or maybe the best mid range card available right now.

9800 pro 128mb oem at mwave.com don't be stupid spend the extra 30-40$ and get 40% mroe performance.

Ill second that...for 210 bucks at newegg you can get the 9800 Pro...

It will last you twice as long as that 9600, and is much more powerful.

Thank you!

Also, with a machine like yours, you can take advantage of such a powerful card as the 9800 pro....

Don't forget that only certain vcard manufacturers are giving out HL2 coupons with their XT's anymore...

I would rather save the $100 bucks right now and get the R420, whenever it is going to come out. All the 9600Pro will be is a temporary card which will later be used for a secondary machine.

thanks for all of the posts so far!
