9600pro or r380

Both are main stream cards... but will the r380 perform much better than the 9600pro?

Should I wait the few months and get the r380? Or go ahead now and get the 9600pro?
 
What is R380 ? In the mainstream segment, i would say get a Nvidia geforce fx 5900 nu or Xt, nu will be better then the xt model, but both of them are faster then radeon 9600 pro.
 
The r380 is going to be ATI's "new" 9600(from what I understand).. and I was just wondering wether there will be any significant gains in performance, and if I should wait the couple of months until the release date.
 
I belive ATi has the policy to put last-generation technology into a low-cost card when the new generation comes out. So, the R380 will be to the R420 what the R250 is to the R300.

In other words, the R380 will launch with the R420 and will be a low-cost ($100) card that could possibly be an even further stripped down 9600 pro (is this possible?).
