9600gt getting bottlenecked?

I just put together a new pc.

Intel E2180
Corsair 2gig 6400
Gigabyte Ga-P35-DS3L
Seagate 500gig
Thermaltake 600w
Evga 9600gt superclocked
19" dell lcd

I just played TF2 at high settings and i was only getting 40fps, it wasnt as smooth as i think it should be. Any suggestions?
 
I just bought one to replace my 7900GT and I'm running TF2 at 1680 by 1050 all settings on high with no problems.

Driver conflict maybe?
 
i dl'd some new drivers and it plays better. still a little bit of video lag. i think it could be something else.
 
When I first got TF2, I had such a choppy/laggy response from that game (only when moving or w/ moving objects, great when standing still), that I put in a ticket. Turned out, it was only with the Valve "test" servers that I was connecting to. All other servers (anything that didn't have "valve" and "test" and a number in the name) ran flawlessly. I wonder if you found a different version of a "server spefic" style issue like that. Who knows. I was soured on that game by my experience. Too bad.
