Ok well i just got a 9600be for really cheap and am having a few temp problems
Do these temps look odd to you?

room temp is 18-19c
Rig is water cooled
this same water cooling set up could just barely tame my q6600 @3.6ghz (1.45v core)

what program would be the most accurate?

edit: running it at stock btw
 
my 9600 BE with a SI-120 fanless in my media server is at 31*C idle and 37*C load....

so WCed and with that low of ambient that sounds about right...

my ambient is around 22*C
 
core temps the most accurate.. but yeah those temps look spot on for low ambient and water cooling.. its a 1.25v core vs a 1.45v q6600.. more voltage = more heat.. and thats why your current system had trouble with the q6600 and not the 9600BE..

btw i have that same motherboard.. and asusprobe reads the motherboard sensor for cpu temp and not the die sensor.. temp 1 in speedfan = motherboard CPU temp sensor.. temp 2 = system temp.. temp 3 = should be northbridge but my sensors dead on mine so it shows -127C
 
Alright thanks guys. just weird seeing core temp lower then ambient temp.
Will be getting a board to overclock soon.

oh also the board in my sig is not what i'm using. the m3a-h/hdmi is junk i get tons of blue screens with 9600be @ Stock. Bios was updated to the newest one. still no luck. rma time

board I'm using is M2A-VM
