On my second system I have just installed a 9600 pro (was a matrox g400) this machine is never used for gaming or anything, I just wanted to have better 2d performance.

Anyways what is happening is this.
If I grab a window and move it around the screen, it will freeze up for 5 - 10 seconds and then continue normally.

That is how i can make it happen repeatable, problem is it also happens within programs that have graphical interface (particularly creamare SFP, which is what i use mostly on this machine.)

What i have observed.
1: it happens the most when the window crosses between screens (dual monitors) but also happens in single monitor mode.
2: the card worked perfectly in the other computer.
3: there are no IRQ shared with the card. the behaviour is very similar to an IRQ conflict.
4: when it freezes it always recovers.

What i have tried:
1: New Catalyst drivers
2: omega drivers
3: change AGP to 4x
4: turn off fast writes

system: P4B266
p4 1.6a
1GB ddr333
creamware scope
creamare pulsar
seagate barracuda IV
XP pro SP1

I hope someone can help with this its a PITA!

Doh never mind. I had to change the memory to 2.5 latency. I forgot it was set to 2 from before when i only had 256 but a better stick :)

funny how it would only cause that to happen with radeon and not matrox though.
