9500 Pro Upgrade Path?

Not sure if this is the right forum, but here goes...

I have a pretty old machine that's being used as an HTPC. First the specs:

P4 2.4
Asus P4PE board (533 FSB)
768 Ram
ATI 9500 Pro

It's hooked up to an LCD TV right now, so my max res is 1368 x 768. It's served me well in the past 2 years, handling every media I've thrown at it, and even playing Doom 3 decently (albeit at 800x600). It's choking on the new WMV HD clips though, like the Gears of War HD trailer. What I'm trying to figure out is if upgrading the graphics card will help with the lag I run into when playing these clips. Are my cpu and graphics card well matched? If it's the CPU that's the bottleneck, then I'm just going to wait a couple months and build a new rig from scratch.

Try using this to help you decide.

AIW cards are at the top of the pull down menu.
It will also tell you if all the other non-AIW cards have VIVO and HD-Out.
