Does anyone know when the 945/955 chipsets will be released? I know they are the first "official" chipsets that will support the LGA775 dual core processors. I just want to know how long I am going to have to wait to buy a new P4 board.

Sometime in Q2. No idea when that will be exactly. Could be the beggining, middle or end.

That sucks, it honestly pisses me off that they released the new 775 socket with chipsets that don't support one of the biggest CPU moves in recent history. Stupid Intel!

No.. stupid users.

They came out with a new chipset.. (and socket) and then everyone jumped to buy those boards [which means intel got to sell chipsets], and then they bought processors to fit those 775 sockets [which means intel gets to sell processors] Now, they come out with a new chipset, so everyone will, again, buy new chipsets, AND probably processors.

Now, if intel didn't make chipsets, the game may not be this way.. but, they do, so, it is.

Maybe instead of upgrading every six months, you should "wait and see what happens" If you are at the cutting edge of technology, sometimes you might bleed [in this case, bleeding green]

from what I understand, Intel wasn't even planning on going dual-core as soon as they did. Basically, when they were planning 915/925, they thought that by the time dualcore would be comming out, people would be upgrading mobo's anyway

both Intel and AMD rushed to release dual-core, thats why im kind of weary of the first generation...
