939 Retention Bracket

Hello,

Im redoing an older 939 system and I want to use my Xigmatek HDT-S1283 as the cooler. The stock 939 retention bracket on my Asus a8n32-sli deluxe aims the cooler at the PSU.

What Im wondering is if there is a retention bracket that would turn the cooler 90 degrees so it will aim out the back of the case instead of into the PSU? :confused:

I have an intake 120 in the 5.25 bays, a 120 on the xigmatek and a 120 on the back right behind where it is. Id like to flow in through the bays, through the cooler, then out the back.

nope.. all rifle style heatsinks are that way due to the mounting style that amd uses.. its the only down fall to the mounting amd uses.. but ill take amd's mounting over intels any day of the week..
 
Darn, oh well I guess. Maybe Ill try to make my own retention system to hold it. or a duct system. You'd think someone could make the bracket mount the other way I guess that might prove to be a weak design however.

Oh Nice! I had searched for a long time before even posting asking. After I couldnt find anything and after the first reply I was thinking something like that but making it out of spring metal and using the stock retention bracket screws as hold downs. But for only $5-10 I will give that clip a try and post back if it works on my HDT-S1283

I did get the Thermalrights S-type heatsink clip to work with my Xigmatek S1283. The heatsinks this clip is made for have a hole in the center where the Xigmatek does not. I made a piece out of aluminum with a hole in the center for the clips center post and 2 holes to screw it onto the Xigmatek in the stock screw holes. I then had to cut the center post on the clip, that sticks into the center hole, off about 1/8". After that it does work. I just need to get this board mounted and everything and I can put it to the test. ;)
