OHH MAN, when i bought this fan, i knew it would pushloads of air, but i never knew it would make a cd levitate 6 inches above it! this one fans sounds like what my case alone sounds like now. i cant wait to see the temps when i throw in on my xp-90! overclocking horray!

soon ill post a pic of this fan doing its "magic" levitating trick just so everyone knows how powerfull this thing is.

thats the fan i got, and the 56 decibals doesnt really bother me too much, cause its masked by 4 42 dba fans in my case. :D i bought it with a xp-90 that i got for 25 bucks from them using the xp90 coupon. i cant wait to take off my crappy kingwin cooler, lap my xp-90 to get that flat mirror finish, and overclock that baby all the way to 2.5 ghz. :D

im scared for the life of my high load temps right now as it is! over volting would result in lower load temps, and i dont think i can deal with that. haha note the sarcasm. i might overvolt it when i get around to buying and setting a water cooling in my rig, cause i cant go without a good fan for my xp-90. anyways how would you go about over volting a fan? ive never tried it
 
well.. you have to make some sort of power stage that would bump up the 12v line that you can plug the fan into. wouldn't be easy like a 7v mod though :(.

yea, i rock the long hair. its been awhile since i got a haircut, im feeling on coming on though, as summers fast approaching. once i get my new xp90 lapped and thrown in there, ill post and tell you how far the oc can go and how low my temps get(hopefully at 2.5ghz they will be lower then 52ºC load liek they are right now at 2.36ghz) . im hoping once i get my new pdp 4000(i think im ordering tonight after 3 weeks of waiting :D ) ill be pushing 2.5-6 if im lucky and am not afriad to up some vcore.
 
imagine if u were holding that fan and accidently touched it where the fan is spinning..OUCH

I touched one of my slow 80mm fans that spun at 2500 rpm..and I started to bleed all over hehe
 
I had an 80mm tornado on my cpu once upon a time. ... I am still suffering temporary hearing loss as a result. >.<
 
you should see the bottom side of these fans, like freaking fort knox! soo many plastic fins on the back of that thing to keep you from loosing a digit. ive never cut myself on a fan, and i got my finger caught in my 4400 rpm 80 mm fan on my heatsink and it just scared the crap outta me, leaving me unscaved. and hey, who said fan grills are for little girls, ever since i scared the crap outta myself, thats all i have on my fans

edit: does anyone know a place to get a decibal measuring device? cause id love to see what my case fans are producing decibal wise. my guess is no less the 60dba.

You are confusing the "masked" sound with being deaf.
I tried the tornado thing once. Trashed it within days, now I view stupidly large noisey fans as the lazy way out.
 
i just blast some music and i dont hear it anymore. or i turn on the tv, it hasta be up past volume setting 25, and i just listen to the tv instead of the fans. there are ways to make a pc bareable, and my way is music. i am sure when i get older, i wont want a deathly loud pc but till then, my ears dont mind it

I was wonderng if any of you know if this 92mm by 38mm can be hooked up to a vantec fan controller? I bought this vantec fan controller, http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=13-999-502&depa=0 and tried hooking it up to the tornado by using a converter plug. Basically, the tornado has two plugs, one for power, and one for rpm detection(which has three holes). I tried plugging the rpm detection plug into a converter plug and into the fan controller, but it doesn't seem to be able to adjust the fan speed. Am I suppose to unplug the power plug from the tornado? I'm afraid to try that, since I don't want to risk harming my cpu if the fan stops
