920D being killed off

This would explain why the 930D and 920D were the same price on Intel's Q3 price charts ($178). They are doing away with the 920D, updating the technology, and dropping prices to fill in the sweet spot that the 920D held. I say wait until that happens instead of buying 920Ds.

i completely agree

The 920D is not getting upgraded to the C1 core due to Inte's killing the chip off early. The upgrade from the B1 core to the C1 core will further cut down the chip's power consumption. Well If I was looking to buy a Pentium D 9XX series then I will wait until the C1 core chips come out.
