I am ready to order a new 900 and am in need of some case filters for this case. Can anyone tell me where I can get ones to fit?

did you already buy an antec 900? if you didn't i would pick another case. i own the 900 and it really isn't that great. cooling is great, but it collects dust, and cabling is a bitch.

A new one as in you already have one, or the Nine Hundred Two that just came out? The new ones have built-in filters. Or were you looking to buy one of the old ones?

The new version has cable management features and a black-finished inside. It's a lot more like a mini-Twelve Hundred than the previous version.

Don't get an Antec 900, unless you can get it for less than $70. There are much better options than the 900 like the CM 590 and 690.

the price is $79 + FS and it is the old 900. I keep my computer on a plastic crate if that makes any difference for dust? I haven't pulled the plug on the order yet.

Most isn't all, so dust will happen. But if you have dust-filtration, why are you so concerned?

If it is possible to remove any dust that might get in there it saves me the task of taking it downstairs and blowing it out when needed. So basically I am a lazy guy I guess.

No filter that still allows airflow blocks 100% of dust. Don't think of filters as dust prevention. Think of them as procrastination enablers. ;)

Canned air works well enough. No need to take it downstairs.

Any case you get that flows decent air and has no filters is going to get dusty pretty quick. The 900 is just really bad about showing dust. Personaly I just air can mine on a monthly basis before things get too noticeable.

The CM 690 looks llike a great case. The cost would be almost $54.00 more than the 900 case I can get. Maybe a little dust isn't so bad?

Tricky0502 are your fans running on high speed or low?

GJSNeptune anything that lets me procrastinate is a good thing.;)

The only kind of fan filters I am finding are ones that bolt up using the fan mounting screws. Cleaning those could be a real pain.

i run all of my fans on low. i cant stand the noise if i turn them up.

The only problem I see in using canned air is that blowing the dust out/off would be done in place and all that dust would still be in the room for me to breathe in and resettle back in the case? Taking it downstairs and blowing it out outside eliminates that problem. Its a pain but the cleanest way that I can see to do the job.

I was planning on running mine on low also. Now I am wondering if I shouldn't just hold off on this purchase. I would rather buy a case that had filters that can be easily cleaned and only require a blow down once every 3 months or so than to have to clean it out on a monthly basis. I just hate to pass up the price. The new 900 two is twice as much.:(

Hadn't thought about doing that. Good idea.
Just be careful, don't get it too close to computer components. The friction with the air and the plastic nozzle of vaccuums builds up enough static to fry electronics.

The Antec Twelve Hundred has excellent airflow and the filters keep my components nearly dust free even after several months. It's much easier to clean the filters than clean my components.

So, yes. Dust comes from the air. And yes a filtration system for the home will help with how much dust gets into a computer. But as someone who has run high airflow cases both with and without dust filters attached, I can tell you that the difference they make in how much (and how often) you have to "canned air" your components is tremendous.

Oh, and I highly recommend the Antec Twelve Hundred. Especially with a 3rd party fan controller and Scythe/S-Flex fans.

I have a Twelve Hundred with all Scythe SFF21E fans and a Lamptron FAN-ATIC 3-way fan controller with five military switches. Its mesh front matches the case very nicely. All the fans run at 7v when not gaming (12v otherwise), and I never set the blowhole fan above Low.

The drawback is that you have to remove the HDD cages to remove the filters. This involves removing both side panels and undoing four thumbscrews per cage. But the filters work well. I don't think I'll have to clean once a month, even after having my fans upped to 12v almost every day while I'm gaming.

I would think a computer with filters would catch fine dust and clog faster. You have to take it apart anyway to clean the filters. Just run it with out filters.

I just want to add that I emailed Antec to inquire if the filters from the Nine Hundred Two can be used for the Nine Hundred and the answer was no.

igotthe 900 for $69 free ship no rebate about 1 month ago from newegg, found it in the hot deals here. you will prob start seeing it a lot cheaper as it has been suprerceded by the 902.

is very hard to find a filter to fit on the front fans, unless you dont have any hard drives in that bay.

how is a 590/690 a much better case, btw? they look pretty even to me.

I got my 900 at microcenter last month for $79.99+tax....fry's will have it at around that price or lower from time to time. I think people say the 590/690 is better due to cable management. The 900 v1.1 (the current release) only gave you 3 precut holes for cable management, and the earlier v1 had none.
