2.1-3.2 gb Western Digital corsair hard drive
Hmm - you might want to consider the original tnt card too for 97/8 ish
corsair brand memory

I never considered a Celeron a high end system. Especially back in 1998 when the cache was severely trimmed.

There was a thead identical to this a while back.

Might have been before the upgrades, though.

I'm not old skool enough.

My first run in with computer hardware were the slot processors.

OooO the Celeron 300A, I remember mine, @ 450 was fast =P, My friend got his to boot at 504mhz but wasnt stable.. Greed I tell ya Greed!! :D

Gotta go with the Slot T-bird + GF for the '99 rig (was the T-bird around then  )

That was some good stuff!

In your 2000 box, VisionTek doesn't make GeForce 2 Ultra's anymore, along with any other nVidia card. That shuldnt be a problem really if you already have that card.

Interesting thread. A mobo you might want to consider for the year 2000 box is the Abit KT7A-RAID (or abit KT7-RAID if the KT7A wasn't out yet). That was a great board :D

Actually no one makes GeForce 2 Ultra's anymore. Most of the older stuff I have to find on ebay and forums. And no, I don't have that card, it simply did best on the few reviews still online.

cool, yea i dont know why i didnt figure you would be getting the stuff on ebay and all that. anyways good luck. cool thing youre doing,.

so you ARE going to build these systems? Hmm. Interesting. Do you need parts? (I got an MX300 sound card somewhere... I still think it sounded better than the creative products - even the present ones.)
Another place to glean info would be from Maximum PC - looking at their "dream machines" of yore. http://www.maximumpc.com/
if they dont have them listed somewhere - send em an email -

Hmmm I have this so called .... "goldfinger" in a drawer, that used to power my slot 800 to 900mhz... Cant seem to part with that, the golden orb or the chip/mobo/ram. Its my "gaming keepsake" for lack of a better term. Lent it out to my cousin who was in need of a computer, and its still currently in service until I build him a new system next month.
