I upgraded from a evga 8800gts 320mb about a year ago and it was working fine. From there I put it in my new graphics card box and it has been sitting in my closet ever since. I tried hooking it up to another computer but for some reason the monitor is getting no signal. The fan on the graphics card is working and I have tried using a different monitor, different pci-e power connector, different computer and still no luck.

So is the graphics card toast or what?

was the card exposed to a moisture environment or a dry one?
in a dry environment the risk of an electrostatic discharge is higher.
have you grounded yourself properly, before manipulating the card?

what do you mean by have you grounded yourself properly, before manipulating the card? As far is the environment goes it was in the same packaging that my 4870hd was in and stored in a closet, but before I was selling it to someone it was in my car overnight exposed to mild heat.

is there anyway to fix something that has had a electrostatic discharge if that is the case?

i meant grounded yourself when installing the video card. If it was an electrostatic discharge, not fancy oven trick is gonna resurrect it :(
